Chatiquette - The Term
The term "Chatiquette" means nothing else like "the rules of a chat" or briefly "chat rules", these are the rules of a chat as already mentioned under the Chat-Introduction, that is to say every Chatter must observe certain rules, otherwise the chatter faces consequences, like the exclusion from the mentioned chat for a certain time, or in the worst case, locking of the IP-address. If the IP-address is locked, the appropriate person has no more access to the chat. Chat-rules are not complicated, "Chat Surium" therefore advise every chat participant to stick to these absolutely!
Politeness in a Chat
In a chat one should meet other Chatter with politeness, in addition, if someone is in a chat for the first time, should first look around a little - Which special chat rules became fixed by the chat admin (boss of a chat) ? Which chat-orders are there? Every chat has chat orders of its own, Chat-orders are key combinations for example.: to leave a room, there is an order of its own, to create a smiley, there is again a chat order of its own etc. At the beginning it is therefore useful to read in a little, to get to know the complete chat a little better. If you speak to somebody in a chat and the appropriate person would not like to chat with you, then finish the conversation please, primarily do not bother this person, by writing to that person further.
Helpfulness in a Chat
Help the new Chatter (Newbies) ! According to this motto every Chatter should act - Would you not be glad either, if you are completely new in a chat, to be not street-smart and another Chatter assists you with advice and act? Surely, or? Do not hesitate for a long time, if somebody consults you and help him/her! Of course one also can address his questions to the chat admin, or if it is a bigger chat also to a Chat-Op (chat operator). Chat admin and Chat-Op are virtually the bosses of a chat, these have the function of providing law and order in a chat, however, are available also in case of problems and questions around the chat.
Smilies and Special Orders
Smileys and special orders are available to show emotions in a chat, or to highlight texts ect. These orders and signs should not be abused, for example to flood the chat-room (permanently type the same)!
Frustration and Aggressions in a Chat
Frustration and aggressions do not belong to a chat, a chat ought to be funny and offer no place for violence and bad mood! Swearwords and like that are therefore inappropriate in a chat and therefore should be avoided. In addition, violence, pornographic representations and racist comments can be prosecuted, the same applies to the topic drugs!
Trouble Makers in a Chat
There will always be trouble makers in a chat, therefore one should simply ignore them, so one should simply leave them alone. If one is permanently bothered by another Chatter so one can prevent these via "Ignore function" from permanently writing to the person of one's own. Then one gets no more messages from the mentioned person. Should a chat do not have any "Ignore function", in such a case one has nothing else left than to contact a chat Op or chat admin - This will then provide for law and order! If somebody makes himself punishable by his comments (see under "Frustration and Aggressions in a Chat", then one should contact the chat operator (Chatadmin, Chat-Op, or someone like that) in any case!
Chat-Nicks
On the initial page or on one of the first pages of a chat, one has the possibility of selecting a name (Chat-Nick) before entering the chat. Of course nicknames glorifying racist and force are not permitted! Pornographic nicknames are usually only permitted in certain chat rooms for example.: adult chat services or something like that.
Anonymity in a Chat
Nobody is really anonymous in a chat! The server of a chat saves your IP-address (the address every computer can be definitely identified). At possible criminal offences the respective person/s can be found. Most chats have such security procedures to stop criminal and punishable offences!
Advertising in a Chat
The advertising of commercial internet pages and other chats are forbidden! If the chat permits to make a profile of one's own and this profile permits the integrating of links, then there were usually only non commercial internet pages permitted, like the home page of one's own for example - Here it depends on the individual regulations of the specific chats, some permitting more other few.
